Online Detection Work workshops for beginners
The online Detection Work workshops for beginners are designed for owners and handlers who want to introduce their dog to the world of detection and scent work in a clear, structured, and engaging way.
The training covers the basics of detection training, including:
- building motivation to work,
- introducing target scents,
- developing search behaviors,
- understanding how dogs use their noses and how to "read" their signals.
Step-by-step, participants learn how to correctly start detection training and how to avoid the most common beginner mistakes.

The workshops are suitable for:
- beginners with no prior experience in detection,
- family dogs, sport dogs, and working dogs,
- handlers who want to develop their dog's concentration, confidence, and provide mental stimulation.
Working methods

Jasmine Maier
I'm a certified dog trainer and behavioral consultant specializing in service dog therapy and training. Over the years, I've worked with dogs in a variety of capacities, helping them reach their full potential as companions, emotional support animals, and special-purpose trained animals.
I introduced service and therapy dogs to Qatar. The first dog I trained, my own cardiac care provider, Charlie, now visits schools and universities across the country.
As a certified therapy dog handler and trainer, I am committed to building a special bond between assistance dogs and their caregivers.
